Matawan and EASIER partner to improve mobility in France and Overseas

Matawan and EASIER Partner to Streamline Mobility Across France and Overseas Territories
Matawan and EASIER, a brand of the IER Group specializing in self-service solutions, are joining forces to deploy Automated Ticket Machines (ATMs or DATs in French). The aim of this partnership is to pool their expertise in order to offer small and medium-sized transport networks solutions tailored to their specific needs. This collaboration will initially enable the deployment of over 120 DATs in locations such as Martinique, Reims, Thonon-les-Bains, and La Rochelle.
A Comprehensive Offering to Democratize Access to DATs for Smaller Networks
Traditionally, DATs have been reserved for large transport networks due to high costs and technical complexity. Matawan and EASIER are working to change this by introducing a standardized, accessible, and highly functional solution. Together, they are offering a “full ABT” (Account-Based Ticketing) DAT, based on cloud-stored user accounts, designed to meet the needs of small and mid-sized networks while remaining scalable.
Their solution is delivered as a SaaS model and includes a full software package (sales, cash management, maintenance, supervision) along with customization options — allowing for quick and cost-effective deployment, even at small scale.
A Concrete Response to Territorial Accessibility Challenges
Beyond technological innovation, this partnership reflects a shared vision: to improve mobility for all with a solution that is available 24/7, ergonomic, accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM), and built to last. These DATs enable users to buy occasional tickets with card or cash, top up contactless subscription cards, and pay fines directly at the terminal. This development greatly enhances access to public transport — even in areas not served by agencies or vendors.
By pooling purchasing volumes and guaranteeing industrial-grade quality, Matawan and EASIER allow less densely populated areas to adopt high-performance solutions without compromise. It also reduces wait times at physical sales points — a tangible, inclusive, and sustainable answer to today’s mobility challenges.
"These initiatives perfectly illustrate EASIER’s ability to bring French industrial and technological know-how to the service of mobility. By combining our expertise, we are now making self-service solutions - once reserved for major operators - available to transport networks of all sizes."
Martinique Leading the Way
This strategic alliance has caught the attention of Martinique Transport, which aims to unify the island’s local transport systems and significantly improve the user experience. Nearly 40 new DATs are planned for deployment, with a full rollout expected across the territory by the end of 2025. These DATs will be placed in strategic areas of the island — including major routes such as the airport-to-Fort-de-France connection and maritime docks — to facilitate ticket purchases for shuttle services between key coastal locations. Additional units will support service accessibility near transit hubs and kiosks across the island.
"This partnership with EASIER fully reflects our mission: making mobility accessible everywhere, for everyone. By combining our strengths, we’re bringing high-quality, industrial-grade solutions — previously only available to large networks — to smaller, less densely populated regions. Thanks to a pooled approach and agile SaaS model, even modest networks can now offer users a modern, seamless, and inclusive mobility experience."
